A/Prof Aymeric YT Lim MBBS (S'pore), FRCS (Glasgow), FAMS (Hand Surgery)Senior Consultant Department of Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery, National University Hospital, NUHS
Concurrent appointment: Chairman Medical Board, National University Hospital Associate Professor, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Natioanl University of Singapore
Dr Aymeric Lim completed his medical training at the National University of Singapore in 1990. He obtained his FRCS (Glasgow) in General Surgery in 1995 and went on to complete his advanced Fellowship training in Hand surgery in France, Bordeaux and Nancy, in 2000. He is the incumbent President of The Singapore Society for Hand Surgery (2007-2008). Dr Lim’s research interests include free flaps, nerve and brachial plexus surgery as well as tendon transfers. His research on the intra-muscular innervation of the muscles of the forearm has led to pioneering clinical work in the field of tendon transfers, where a single muscle unit was split and used for two separate tendon transfers. Such techniques are especially useful for patients with severe crush or nerve injuries to the forearm. Dr Lim has also authored numerous research papers in international journals, written two book chapters and participated as invited speakers at local and international meetings. Dr Lim is also actively involved in the planning and development of core curriculum for undergraduate medical teaching. Some of his recent publications include: 1. Lim AYT.
