Dr Peng Yeong Pin is the director of microsurgery teaching at the department. He is currently also the clinical director of HRM since 2006. A graduate of the National University of Singapore, Dr Peng did two fellowship stints: a microsurgical fellowship at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan, and a hand surgery fellowship at Kleinert and Kutz Associates, Louisville, Kentucky USA. He is the Vice President of The Singapore Society for Hand Surgery (2007-2008).

Dr Peng is currently in charge of setting up the Image Enhanced Database for the Musculoskeletal System (IMED), a clinical and image database meant for the collection and storage of clinical data for the department. His clinical interests include reconstructive microsurgery, wrist surgery and trauma of the hand and wrist.

His research interests lie in the fields of experimental microsurgery, reconstructive microsurgery and nail bed reconstruction. For his research projects, he has received several awards including the Young Investigator Award at the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Annual Scientific Meeting 2001 and the Best Free Paper at the Singapore Society for Surgery of the Hand Annual Scientific Meeting 2002. Dr Peng has also presented his research at various international meetings, including the 1st and 3rd Congress of the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery in Taiwan in 2001 and Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2005 respectively.
